Mahatma Gandhi has been portrayed in film, literature, and in the theatre. Ben Kingsley portrayed Gandhi in the 1982 film Gandhi, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. This film is no subtitles, so I was difficult to interpret movie. We know the man who is Gandhi. However, we don’t know about him exactly. This movie means that his life and a brilliant achievement has been impact.

What is learned about the movie The Gandhi? Is it just that Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar, a coastal town which was then part of the Bombay Presidency, British India. It isn’t just that. He was leader the doctrine of ahimsa. He affected India and world. He was a common person. But he was changed a thinker because of his special experience. He achieved great things in his life, though his lifestyle was very humble. So many people have said that Gandhi was a great man. He experienced unfair racial profiling during his going to South Africa. He was thrown off a train at that place after refusing to move from the first-class to a third-class coach while holding a valid first-class ticket. Travelling farther on by stagecoach, he was beaten by a driver for refusing to move to make room for a European passenger. He suffered other hardships on the journey. There was much racial discrimination. These events were a turning point in Gandhis life: they shaped his social activism and awakened him to social injustice. He became journalist to help India residents.
